Are you tired of trying to play your iPhone and iPad games with the screen? Are you finding the fiddly intricacies of running your fingers across the screen is distracting from the enjoyment of the game?
Well now you now also play iOS games with your DualShock 4 on your iPhone and iPad!As the best game controller on the market, the DualShock 4 is the ultimate in controlling enjoyment.
If you own one of Sony’s flagship smartphones – the Xperia Z2 and Z3, you can already connect with the DualShock 4 controller for remotely playing games on the PlayStation 4 over your home WiFi network. It’s an awesome feature for avid gamers, but what if you own an iPhone rather than a Sony Experia? Well fear not, you can now get the same enjoyment out of using your PS4’s DualShock 4 on your iPhone and iPad. The only difference here is that you will be using the controller to games instead of PS4 console games.

The following instructions are written under the assumption that your iPhone and iPad have already been jailbroken
- Open Cydia, and search for ‘Controllers for All’. It uses the MFI API introduced in iOS 7 to allow the user to play any MFIsupported game, using any of the many third-party controllers supported by ‘Controllers for All’.
- Once installed, go to Settings > Controllers for All,
- Select PS4 Controller from ‘Controller Type’.
- Tap Pair from the bottom, and follow onscreen instructions.
- You will need to press and hold the PS and Share buttons on the DualShock 4 simultaneously until the lights on its back start pulsing. ‘Controllers for All’ will then connect with your device.
You will need to actually disable your Bluetooth before playing games. You can do this from the Control Center by:
- Swiping up from the button from the screen
- Tapping on the Bluetooth symbol (it looks like a stylized B).
‘Controllers for All’ uses a different implementation of Bluetooth to work, meaning your Bluetooth cannot be turned on while you play.
Now, whenever you launch an MFIcontroller supported game you will be able to see the list of supported games. Your device will ask you to connect your PS4 DualShock 4 controller by pressing the PS Button. Once you’ve done this, you’re all set up and ready to go. Now you can play iOS games using the PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4! Happy gaming!
